Sea Buckthorn Is A Vital Ingredient In The Fight Against Type 2 Diabetes

Sea Buckthorn Is A Vital Ingredient In The Fight Against Type 2 Diabetes

With the numerous benefits the berry of Sea Buckthorn has to offer, the “Modern Saajeevni Booti” is also found to be helpful in the universal fight against diabetes. Sea Buckthorn or Goldenberry is a natural oxidant found in the higher altitude of the Great Himalayas. It is a rich source of multivitamins and minerals.

It is also one of the only plant food that is known to offer all four omega fatty acids: omega-3, 6, 7, and 9.

For about a hundred years, the fruit has been used for its medical and nutritional properties in countries like Russia and China. As a study claims that the fruit is thought to remove free radicals-molecules that can damage cells.

Fight Against Diabetes

According to a survey conducted in 2017, nearly 73 million people in India were suffering from Diabetes. And we’re estimating a rise in number by the end of this year, December 2022.

Prevention of type 2 diabetes has become a major health challenge given its high global prevalence. The palmitoleic acid from sea buckthorn oil is believed to help alleviate type 2 diabetes insulin resistance, reducing the symptoms. This was evaluated in an animal study in vivo study conducted by researchers at Tianjin University of Science and Technology in China.

The results revealed that the Sea Buckthorn Oil extract effectively alleviates insulin resistance through the PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathway in HepG2 cells. The studies have shown the positive effect of Sea Buckthorn Oil extract on reducing blood glucose. In human trials, the fruit extract decreases and delays insulin response and improves the glycemic profile.

In other study, it was found that a daily dose of 100g of Sea Buckthorn extract can reduce fasting plasma glucose within the duration of 33-35 days. When taken with yogurt (200 g) and glucose (50 g) it stabilizes postprandial hyperglycemia and suppresses peak insulin response.

The researchers claim that the fruit is a rich source of bioactive substances, such as fat-soluble vitamins (A, E, and K) and flavonoids. The flavonoids, in particular, exhibit the potential to enhance insulin secretion and sensitivity and regulate hepatic glucose output, among other things.

Sea Buckthorn berry products such as Pulp Juice, Oil, SBT Leaf Tea, in addition, plays a vital role in regulating neuroendocrine, immune, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory functions which contribute to controlling blood glucose
